from Newsday:
“Notes & quotes: Chris Duhon was excused from yesterday’s practice for personal reasons. A team spokesman said he will make the trip to Boston and is expected to play . . . Mike D’Antoni said he plans to change up the starting lineup for tonight’s game, with Jared Jeffries getting a look at center, David Lee back at power forward and the possibility that Al Harrington could be used as a sixth man.”
from RealGM:
http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/62020/20091009/walsh_landry_is_kind_of_player_knicks_need/
“Marcus Landry appeared to be a longshot to make the Knicks a few weeks ago, but he survived the first round of cuts.
Landry, a rookie forward out of Wisconsin, paid his own way for a tryout with the team. Many consider him undersized, but his work ethic and toughness make up for any size disadvantage.
“That’s the kind of player we need,” general manager Donnie Walsh told the New York Daily News.
Landry’s brother, Carl, is a forward with the Rockets.
“My brother just told me to play hard,” Landry said. “That’s all he told me and that’s what I’ve been doing.”
The Knicks currently have 13 players with guaranteed contracts on the roster, including the retired Cuttino Mobley.
Mike D’Antoni is open to taking one more player, which means Landry is battling guard Joe Crawford and forward Chris Hunter for the final spot.”
i wouldn’t mind seeing Carl Landry’s kid brother get some burn against a veteran Celtics front line. Let’s get some hustle in here! LGK!!
Keep tha noize TURNED UP!!
NY Post,
” D’Antoni admitted the Celtics have the East’s best roster, no insult to King James. “Boston added a piece that would fit in well,” D’Antoni said. “It’s safe to say they’ll be one of the top 3. Whether they’re the best or not, there’s injuries. I would say they were the best last year until Garnett went down.”
D’Antoni doesn’t view this as a statement game, any different than beating the moribund Nets.
“It’s too early,” D’Antoni said. “It’s too early to talk to them about the Celtics. It’s more about us. Are we doing the right thing? Obviously on the court they have four all-stars out there. I don’t want to get a false sense of security or get desperate yet.”
Best way to measure your progress, particularly mental toughness, is against the best.We are a bit small for these guys, but you can’t run if you don’t rebound defensively. If we box and play good D,it’s a game. We need to send a message and underline it with brains and desire! If you can’t get up for the best, you won’t have the heart for the rest.Big opportunity for Darko to step into the light.Prove everyone, including me, is wrong about his game.

Milicic is a joke
Mama says there’s gonna be many days like this.

This is a new low..I fell asleep during a Knicks /Celtic
LBE…….
Man, the wine and the lack of action knocked me out. I woke up with one of the keyboard keys stuck in my nostrils.
LMAO @ Lives.
Too bad so sad and with a week to prepare for the game and ready the team.
What’s with this Knicks’ team?
Oh, the key? It was the letter “D” that the Knicks are still looking for. It’s a little slippery but I’d be glad to mail it to MSG for some tickets to a Cavaliers game. LOL.
You know Lives
I’m glad that [ ]‘Antoni has recognized the lack of attention to the defensive side of the ball and has set a goal to get the team to the middle of the pack in that category.
But man while the effort is there to put up a hand these Knicks were getting carved up by players cutting inside exploiting the Knicks defenders failure to see the ball and their man etc.
It’s a work in progress I suppose… but were’s that progress?
Good AM Fanatics! Didn’t watch the game, but read the LIVE notes and some rags on the game. It is preseason and I will deal with the lost accordingly.
The road is hard, the journey is long, and in the end the determining factor will be effort and intensity, and a large helping of KNICK Defense… I’m going to ride this KNICK train all the way to the end. Those of you who want to exit early. So be it! I’m just not built that way! Once I’m in, I’m in… I’m GOING ALL THE WAY!
Like my DAWG STEADY AS IT IS said, “Mama said they’ll be days like this.” But she also said, “Keep the FAITH Son, for things will get better very soon; you just got to believe and put your faith into action.”
Thank God for Loving & Diligent Mama’s
ONE LOVE ALWAYS!
Keep it CRACKIN!
I’m also in it for the long haul Cooley, however, I may
have to invoke the Fan ” Weatherspoon, Anderson, Eisley”
rule that applies when you can retain your fanship
and watch up till your getting blown out!
BTW..Lives has plans and I haven;t heard back from any
one except you on the Coaches for Cancer game!
D’amn, that was depressing! But the snswer is still staring these guys in te D’face.Notice there was no help. There should have been 3/4 guys in the paint defensively helping until they hit a few from way outside.HELP, WE NEED SOMEONE DEFENSIVELY!Strangely, the rooks are still pumping it up on D.Minutes should go to the guys who bust their azzes on D.Set a tone, send a message.Let’s be the best of the rest. Then we can move it on up.Another display like this one and the D shall be taken from his name, ()arko.On to the next one.

T’Man
My next LBE interface will address the very issue at hand of a lack of rotation and help defense.
Take everyone’s D away except for Toney Douglas and Jared Jefferies!
And the rule should be if you don’t make stops consistently you don’t play.
I don’t know if “[ ]“Antoni will do things that way though.
We’re storing all “Ds” in lock-up.
LOL!
No D’s for any Knicks player this year!
Damn, what was that? An aberration? I hope so. I’m in the house today fellas, at least until the family outing later today. I don’t know where we’re going, but I do know it is too cold to get ice cream and walk around the hood. (Can I legitimately call where I live a “hood?” Hmmmmmm.)
Anyway, I got a lot of stuff to share if I can find the time to pull it together. Let me go see if I can at least pull a new post together right quick.
BTW, Good morning. Cooley man, I am glad to hear that you’re in it for the long haul. I am too, but you really got to take the long view in order to stay engaged.
I’ll be back. Gotta scroll.
Also, Dave Lee has heart, he just doesn’t have the ability
to guard anyone on a NBA level. Teams will crush us in the paint all year.
