2010, A CAP SPACE ODYSSEY

Welcome to the new home of Knicks Fanatics, the best independent Knicks basketball blog for fiery and usually intelligent fellowship.  Here you will find avid Knicks fans able and willing to defend divergent, convergent, emergent and subversive viewpoints.  Through hard times and great times, our Knicks are our bond. Hop a squat and get comfy for 2010 is on its way, whatever the hell that might mean to you. And while you wait for that day (you’ll know it, when if you see it) feel free to enjoy our collection of sounds, videos and fave websites below.   If you want the latest news without traveling the long route through the blogosphere, check out Knicks Klippings.    For the latest in hot action, rummage through the Vodpod while you wait for someone to respond provocatively to your brilliant insight.  And if you don’t have brilliant insight, please feel free to say something stupid, because according to most Fanatics anything that doesn’t come from their keyboard is stupid anyway.  LOL.

  1. Hey Knicks Fanatics!

Here’s some cool news for Knicks fans —

Nate ‘The Great’ Robinson will be making a special guest star appearance at the next 12 ANGRY MASCOTS show at Comix Comedy Club, May 20th at 10 PM.

12 Angry Mascots is NYC’s only sports-themed comedy variety show, featuring sports-related stand-up, sketch, and a guest interview with an athlete. Nate will be our interview guest for this show. Giants all-pro left tackle Dave Diehl will also be taking the stage as a sketch actor. Everyone’s excited about, especially Nate who apparently has become good friends with Will Ferrell in the past year, and is looking to break into the entertainment/comedy world.

Anything you can do to help promote the show via blog postings, facebook messaging, and/or twittering would be much appreciated. Last show we drew 125 people… the club holds 250. We want to pack the place with Knicks fans for Nate’s comedy club debut!

Ticket information can be found at http://www.comixny.com/event.aspx?eid=553

  2. Lives:

It was a pleasure to meet you, although I can’t say I agree with your political philosophies.

Anyway Johnny Flynn WAS NOT picked before Ricky Rubio. Ricky was picked 5th and Johnny 6th, to his dismay.

Hope to see you in Portland sometime and view a Blazer game with Felix and I

    • Bud, the pleasure was mine and I look forward to you and Mike dropping by to share some west coast intel and to fellowship with us.

I guess Kahn picked Flynn 6th because he thought Rubio wouldn’t be there after the fifth pick. It was a joke. Although you are right that the monetary difference was important to somebody.

If you are in New York, let us know. You would enjoy meeting some of the Fanatics.

  3. Hello sir,

I just recently came across your blog, and I am really impressed with the quality of your content here at Knicks Fantatics. You seem to be doing a really great job with your Knicks and NBA coverage, and it has definitely caught our eye. I also think you would be a great addition to the sportsblog network that we launched last November. (www.Bloguin.com) In just a few short months, Bloguin has already exploded beyond our wildest dreams, and is continuing to grow at a promising and rate.

We are the fastest growing Sports Blog Network on the web and we both we (Bloguin) and you would benefit if you were to come aboard. We already have over 90 blogs committed to the network (we are still working on launching some of their new websites yet, so the main Bloguin page does not list them all), and its been growing faster with each successive month. Our traffic is already quickly approaching 1.5 million unique hits per month, and those numbers keep growing. Every blog that has joined Bloguin has noticed a sizable bump in traffic, and we have not had a single complaint. You may or may not be familiar with SB Nation, and we do not operate like that. We empower bloggers to help make them better. We are currently actively working on our efforts to aggressively build and expand our coverage of all the major sports for the Bloguin Network, so we believe you would fit in quite nicely. We’d love to greatly expand our already excellent NBA coverage, and we do not yet have a dedicated Knicks Blog. We think you would be a fantastic addition, and there is a big market available for your content.

    Some quick info about us:

    - All bloggers retain ownership of their content and editorial freedom
    - All sites get free professional redesigns and migration of their old content.
    - Our CEO is formally of Yardbarker, and knows “this business” inside and out.
    - We just recently signed a lucrative ad deal that went into effect July 1st, which I’d love to tell you more about and how it benefits you and monetizing your blog. We shopped around and feel that its honestly the best ad deal that we could have hoped to land. It puts us on par with the SBN’s, Deadspins, and ESPN’s of the Sports website world, in terms of ad revenue.
    - Our sites have a lot of custom technology like polls, forums, podcasts, etc. We run on Joomla software which is the largest (and considered the best) open source software on the net.
    - We redesigned our Bloguin.com site into a “Network Portal Page” which is driving and increasing traffic across all sites in the network, with no further work on the part of our bloggers.

Please take a moment to check out our website, as well as the powerpoint presentation that we have developed, which should help answer most of any potential questions. (I’d love to send it to you!) Please feel free to contact me with any questions/concerns/or thoughts that you might have, and I’d love to take time to respond back to you. I look forward to hearing from you.

Keep up the great work and have a good day~

  4. Wow! I’m really enjoying the template of this blog http://knicksfanatics.wordpress.com/about. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that good balance between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say that you’ve done a excellent job with this. Also, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Opera. Exceptional site!
