Knicks Fanatics

The Ultimate In Knicks Fandom and Fellowship

WELCOME HOME PROUD FANATICS

C’mon on in guys. Check out your new digs. We’re not quite finished decorating, but we think you might dig some of the upgrades that make it a bit easier and more comfortable to post and toast (or burn) concerning our home slices, the Knicks. The most significant improvement from our previous home base is the comment section. You will see we have returned to the numbered and boxed comments which generally makes for easier reading and reference. However, we have added a feature which allows you to respond directly to specific comments and those comments appear unnumbered in a box within the comment box. Hopefully it adds to the flow of the discussion.

Also check out the Vodpod which will be updated with the bomb videos on a regular basis. I love that Vodpod.

You will also see that we still have our sounds in the Fanatics Musicality section. For those of you who were getting busted by your bosses and wives when you visited the old site because the music came on automatically, you’ll be happy to know that bloggers are required to click on the image to bring up the standalone Playlist and start the jams. It is still a fabulous eclectic mix of 200 songs which will create a great environment for your reads.

You will also see that there are presently no advertisements on this site. I cannot promise it will always be that way, but we will do everything we can to avoid the multitude of flash ads about IQ and sex slaves. (O.K. we’ll keep the other site open if you still want the sex slave ads).

You will also see that we have Gravatars. Those can be created at Gravatar.com or you can let us automatically assign you a Gravatar. If I have time, I can design one for you, but it may take me a while. I would love to design the Gravatars for my guys Peace, African and Statesman. I know just what they should look like on-line. Don’t you? Suggestions?

You will also note that we still have our Knicks Klippings, but WordPress.com does not allow the application directly onto the blog. You must access the headlines by clicking the link, instead of the convenience of seeing the headlines once you get onto the site. Well, we couldn’t give you everything.

The last thing we can give you though, is the assurance that we will continue to have hot fun. In this incarnation, we expect to have all of our old posters and commentors. Any regulars who want to be an author, let me know. We expect that Lives, O&B, Peace, Tman, Statesman and Modi will continue to contribute posts. However, this time there will be no admin posts and because WordPress.com protects this site, we should not lose any posts no matter how badly they talk about the administrator, which will be me this go round. Yes, I have gone back on my word not to administer a blog but you should know by now that at the end of every year I do something contrary. The first year LIVES had African believing I was a white man with some multicultural sensibilities. The next year LIVES was supposed to die. Now this year, to keep the family together and to bring some people back, I have moved the blog to my account. But be clear that all that means is that we have one administrator but a family of creators responsible for the content of this blog. I do not expect to post anymore than I have in the past.

I want to make sure we ALL have a good home for our posting passion.

I’ll have more info for you later. I’ve got to go and send out some invites. Peace.

  1. The Celtics lost to the Bulls last night and the world is panicking. They forget how the Celtics were roughed up in the earlier series last year before they easily dispatched the Lakers who were without Bynum.

    • Good to read you. Are you going to design an Avatar for yourself?

      Comment by livesinnewjersey | April 20, 2009 | Reply

      • Yes of course.

I’m working on the concept. Might put in a temporary one in the interim.

  4. Welcome O&B, Statesman and IMG. I am learning more and more about this platform every day. I’m glad you think the pad is suitable, O&B. I look forward to seeing the others. DLT Knicks and Paul should be in the house anytime now.

  7. To bad we have nothing to “right” home about.Still a very impressive sight!I can’t believe we’re looking at more Euro-chumps.Let’s see now, Dirk, maybe the biggest talented loser of all time.No D. Kukoc, a 6th man for the ages on a team who basically only let him play once in a while. That’s because he played no D on maybe the greatest defensive team of all time.Sabonus, a talented passer who played no D.Came here past his prime, so who knows?D.Petrovic, ack ack who played No D.The only one who has won anything is Parker and Ginobli and they play with Rock of Ages,T.Duncan.Parker plays a little D,only by Pop’s choice.Do you see a theme here, like NO D!By the way S.A.ballers don’t count as Euros in my book. They all seem to have a little bit of thug in them, Oberto, Scola, Ginobli, etc..You need a touch of that to be an NBA baller.Nice site!Carry on!By the way, Hell no to Rubio! On the other hand, No’D’Antoni is probably salivating at the thought of another spectacular one way street in NYC.Don’t we have enough of those? Was anyone watching the Madness? We have plenty of One Way Wonders.Buy American.LGK

  8. Tman, I added a video of the 28-year old Spanish Guard in the Videorama section. Check it out.

Any attention on this gent should be a little scary. It gives a signal that this summer Walsh’Antoni is not going in a different direction as they try to build the type of offensive team they could not build with Duhon. This is critical because they cannot build a championship team this way and when it comes time to cut D’Antoni loose, we will be pushed back two years or so trying to retool or restock talent with a common purpose.

Guys, check out the other additions, if you will. In Meta, you are able to subscribe to the comments or the post entries. We also just added RSS news feed for the New York Times, the Daily News and Newsday. (I’m not sure I like having those papers on our sidebar, but they are the major sources of Knicks news. I couldn’t bend as far as giving the Post a prominent space, but they’re on the board somewhere.).

  9. ‘Lives’,

It appears that Obama’s economic stimulus has been used to GEN-TRI-FY the ole neighborhood. Will the stimulus increase lending (post), or has the Knick downturn (no D, no Superstar) killed the interest. Will Stern (leader of the Un-Free World) allow a Ponzi scam (Knicks draft Griffin or Rubio)? Or does Stern believe that after drafting the Roost-TA the Knicks deserve bankruptcy?
Will Paulson (Dolan)continue to do things his way?
Is Walsh an auto company executive (clueless), or a WallStreet Executive, (cluesless, but hiding behind the financial lobbyiststrength)and make trades for the sake of making trades?
Will Stern give the fans an additional stimulus in the form of Rubio(a strong Europe is a strong America)? Who says that the stimulus plans MUST WORK. Can anyone measure the TARP (Danillo) money? Is this the beginning of a economic upswing.

Finally, Why was Made-OFF (Isiah)allowed to keep the cash, while being sent to a country club (South Beach).
Only in America, or only in Knickland.

    Peace & Blessings
