Lebron James To Be Named 2009 MVPK (Most Valuable Potential Knick)

LeBron wins his first MVP at 24 after his sixth regular season.  In doing so, he shows mad love to the Akron-Cleveland connection.  He loves his home and  is intensely loyal. Many New York fans continue to dream that LeBron is going to bring the LeBron James Brand to New York to clean up the current New York Knicks brand.  Our man Tman insists that LeBron coming to New York is the smart money decision which falls into line with LeBron’s desire to be as wealthy as Warren Buffet.    Everytime I hear someone suggest that LeBron is coming to Da City for any reason, I hear that En Vogue refrain blaring in my head, “Never gonna get it.”

Perhaps we can get LeBron James, Jr.  though. The only problem is that at the age of four, Junior does not fit neatly into the 2010 plan.

  1. I think if you are a fan of the Knicks, Nets and Cavs wherever Lebron goes or doesn’t go will have teams and their cities singing “Heart Breaker.”

A more appropos tune for the Knicks is that Stones classic “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

The question raised is what is it the Knicks actually need? Is it a gimmicky offense and a coaching staff for whom defense is a secondary concern? Is it players that just fit the “system” or player’s players who can play in any style of play and will come to play the type of ball that wins in the playoffs- i.e., tough defense, no layups, half court offensive execution.

We still need players no doubt but what type of players? Will the Knicks eventually get what they need?

  2. Well, I’m still holding out for The Black Mamba. If conspiracies hold and to upstage LBJ a la H20 to Reggie Miller then 24 comes to NYK first. Now don’t get it twisted, Steady steadily does not covet OTP. But come on already!! Does anyone reading this post believe that NY can be carried by Gr8 N8 and his alter ego KryptoNate? Don’t believe the NBA marketing hype because players under 6’0 are usually considered DMWs in this league. Since I’ve been away for so long I remind you that under 6’0 in a league of giants, you’re considered a Dead Man Walking. AI and Nate are considered “freaks” of nature. I say that NY will need more than Gallo (though I picked him) and al those other fill-in castaways Walsh brought in last season. NY needs a marquee player in short order and 2009 is not soon enough.
Steady as IT goes to FL.
